some more not so new sketches

  1. You're work has lots energy and rhythm of sound. I can hear the beat and festival in each. Keep going, make lots more. They have a fresh movement to the figures, like they are part of sway of music. The loose figure drawing shows this. Yup I draw from magazine too. Congratulations on your steps.

  2. I love these energetic sketches. I looked at your last post, too. I knew it was Esperanza right away -- she's from the same city I am, Portland, Oregon, USA. It's so hard to get all the features and instruments in all their detail. You're doing excellent work.

  3. Thanks Joy for the joy you give me with your comments and compliments with saying you knew it was Eperanza you see in my drawing. I sketch her with a reference from old jazz magazines, hoping people will recognize her, one of my favorite bassist and jazz singer..

  4. I agree with the comment that these sketches have great energy. I also commented on my own blog that I love the loose and relaxed way you capture life and movement. In these sketches, the trumpet player really stands out to me. I also really like the mixture of line and colour you use, which is something I'd like to try. Keep on drawing!
