recent watercolor sketches

the same qualities that make watercolor so attractive also make it
difficult to control, and even harder to correct.
.......when watercolorists start  over they have to reach for another piece of paper.
from the book "watercolor painting" by tom hofmann

i feel there is always something wrong with my sketches, sometimes the portraiture doesn't quite lookalike
or sometimes i have overdone the watercolor or line drawing.....

'learn to love drawing again! pick up a pen, pencil or tablet and
rediscover hand-fashioned art'
an article from an old magazine 'Digital Arts'  December 2012.
i quote from that article :
'i like to draw quickly sometimes, which means you have
to sacrifice accuracy for a more energetic, looser
sketch. this has its own unique quality to it'
             says Andy Macgregor
'sketching on paper is liberating, both physically
             and mentally"
             Sam de Buysscher (Belgian illustrator)

back more jazz sketches and scribbles trying to catch the impressions around me...

avoiding my blog becoming too boring with jazz sketches,
i put some older drawings, i made way back, illustrations for
a "silat" ( chinese fighting art) magazine in indonesia and one
illustration for a book cover about "sun go kong", and the study
sketches for it.

this one was inspired by ang lee's movie "grouching tiger and hidden dragon"
